The good old summertime…

It’s been a very hot summer in Texas, and we’ve been very busy settling back into our home. We still have a long way to go, but I have neglected my blog so long, I decided this update needed to happen NOW! Things never seem to go as planned, so sometimes I just have to readjust priorities.

I have several items from Artbeads.com to review. The first is a diamond shaped Murano glass pendant. It’s so pretty and cheerful, I can imagine it with a great little sundress! It is full of little flowers, so I decided not to compete with them. I made a simple bail of several kinds and colors of seed beads. I think it will be lovely and feminine on a hand-dyed silk ribbon, either black or yellow, or BOTH! It would also look great on a thick round leather cord. This pendant will move right on in to fall, and will really pop with a black sweater!

Well, there we have the first item of my review. I’m late, but don’t give up on me yet! I have a couple of more items to show off! I’ll be back…

Disclosure: As a participant in the blogging program, I very much enjoyed reviewing this item from Artbeads.com. It was sent free of charge to me. I have been honest in my personal opinion of the product, and I am not being compensated for my endorsement as it pertains to the component reviewed.

The Beauty of Spring…

…is the current theme for the Artbeads bloggers. Very good for me, because Spring is my favorite time of the year. If I were at home in Texas, I’m sure I would be pruning, digging, planting, and enjoying the birds and new growth of my garden. But, here I am in Florida at my “home-away-from-home”. In the Keys this time of the year, thoughts turn to the beach, water sports, tall frosty drinks, palm trees and sea creatures. So, here is my creation using items sent to me for review by Artbeads.com:

I first saw similar porcelain beads in Beadwork magazine, and really wanted to check them out further. But then, along came this fabulous porcelain shell bead at Artbeads! My favorite bead place! How could I resist?? No need! And it truly is as beautiful in person as in the picture. The porcelain shell bead is suspended by a peyote woven bail, and ends with a Hill Tribe bead cap (with shell design, of course!) and a Swarovski coral pearl. The S-clasp is a Hill Tribe Silver Starfish. The necklace is a spiral seed bead rope of various colors found in the pendant, mainly blues and greens.

Since I did not use all the bead caps I received for the necklace, I used them for a springy little pair of earrings, and I must say, they are pretty sweet!

Chic Something…

That’s the title of a pretty Treasury West curated by Demet of Demetgun3 on Etsy. She was so kind as to include my Summer Strawberries Earrings!

Chic Something

Demet has some lovely things in her shop! One of my favorites is her Twisted Snake Medallion Necklace. Hmmm, it would certainly be awesome for Valentine’s Day, or any other day for that matter!
