Recent additions to HPB…

While it might look like I’m stuck on blue, well, maybe I am! Evidently it’s my favorite color! And there will be more to come, cause I’ve been beading, not listing. So, I have a little pile of things which I will be listing on Etsy and 1kM! Some are blue-and some are not… So come on back in a day or two and see…

These MIGHT be my favorites, cause I love love these crystals:

Just thinking, do you enjoy wearing ear threads, or do you prefer other types? I’d love to know how they rate in your book! See ya later!

The Beauty of Spring…

…is the current theme for the Artbeads bloggers. Very good for me, because Spring is my favorite time of the year. If I were at home in Texas, I’m sure I would be pruning, digging, planting, and enjoying the birds and new growth of my garden. But, here I am in Florida at my “home-away-from-home”. In the Keys this time of the year, thoughts turn to the beach, water sports, tall frosty drinks, palm trees and sea creatures. So, here is my creation using items sent to me for review by Artbeads.com:

I first saw similar porcelain beads in Beadwork magazine, and really wanted to check them out further. But then, along came this fabulous porcelain shell bead at Artbeads! My favorite bead place! How could I resist?? No need! And it truly is as beautiful in person as in the picture. The porcelain shell bead is suspended by a peyote woven bail, and ends with a Hill Tribe bead cap (with shell design, of course!) and a Swarovski coral pearl. The S-clasp is a Hill Tribe Silver Starfish. The necklace is a spiral seed bead rope of various colors found in the pendant, mainly blues and greens.

Since I did not use all the bead caps I received for the necklace, I used them for a springy little pair of earrings, and I must say, they are pretty sweet!

Disclosure: As a participant in the blogging program, I very much enjoyed reviewing the items from Artbeads.com, and they were sent free of charge to me. I have been honest in my personal opinion of the products, and I am not being compensated for my endorsement as it pertains to the components reviewed.

Chic Something…

That’s the title of a pretty Treasury West curated by Demet of Demetgun3 on Etsy. She was so kind as to include my Summer Strawberries Earrings!

Chic Something

Demet has some lovely things in her shop! One of my favorites is her Twisted Snake Medallion Necklace. Hmmm, it would certainly be awesome for Valentine’s Day, or any other day for that matter!

The Beadweaving Emporium at 1000 Markets has opened voting for the September Challenge. The theme is “Fall”, and was chosen by Dini of Beadazzled of Oregon, the winner of the New Horizons Challenge. This growing market had only 5 entrants for this particular Challenge, but they are spectacular, as always. The BEM is loaded with talented, creative artists! Go check it out, and cast your vote! Voting is open now through September 15th.

One week to Mothers Day…

What a lovely surprise I just found! I almost missed this sweet Treasury West with my Surf and Pearls Necklace included.

One Week to Mothers Day

It was curated by Noah's Ark Collection which happens to be one of my favorite shops! You will always find lots of cute stuff there, and today I couldn’t find just one, so here are two of my favorite items!

This seagull is so cool, maybe I like it because most of the time we live in Key Largo Florida with LOTS of seagulls, which I never tire of!

And, of course, I collect chickens! So these earrings are right up my alley!

A New Endeavor…

Back on March 18, I opened HidingPlace Beadery at 1000 Markets, a fairly new selling venue for handmade quality items. Not long after that I was contacted by Dini of Beadazzled of Oregon, and she inquired about my interest in starting a new beadweaver’s group on 1000 Markets. Dini’s enthusiasm is infectious! So within just a few days she and Rachele of Rachele’s Originals had organized a group of 8 people who have spent the last week, writing up our proposal, choosing our name and tag line, establishing our vision of the market we wanted to establish and deciding on a final banner graphic. I present the result:

Today, the proposal will be submitted for consideration by the 1000 Markets jury!! So, we’re hoping for the best, and in the meantime, I am thanking the Lord for getting acquainted with some TERRIFIC ladies! Stay tuned for the outcome for “THE BEADWEAVING EMPORIUM”!

A huge thanks to Dini and Rachele! God bless you!
